Who Are We?

Jen Mast, MSW, LICSW, E-RYT 500

My journey into wellness began at birth, when my father was diagnosed with MS. His commitment to movement and optimism taught me early that strength, balance, and connection can be life changing. That lesson—movement as medicine—has guided me ever since.

With a master’s in social work, I spent 15 years as a school counselor before discovering yoga as both refuge and calling. A health crisis in 2014 deepened my practice and shifted my focus to supporting older adults and those navigating health challenges.

I’ve trained with Kripalu Yoga Therapy and Susi Hately’s Functional Synergy, and I lead a “Yoga with a Chair” teacher training at Revolution Community Yoga. My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that healing is never one-size-fits-all—and never too late to begin. This work continues to teach me that healing isn’t linear, laughter and connection is essential and movement is the key to longevity.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Rooted Resilience. We’d be honored to support you or your loved one on their wellness journey!

Rachel Emery, PT, RYT 200

Rachel is a physical therapist and yoga instructor with over 25 years of experience working with all ages and abilities but found her purpose working with mobility-compromised adults in the private home setting.

Her career has spanned both healthcare and wellness settings, each of which have honed her knowledge and skill set for helping individuals with neurologic and orthopedic disorders, including chronic pain, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s.  Developing relationships while helping to restore function and quality of life for these individuals has become her passion, and she can’t wait to help you and your loved one, too.

Off the mat, Rachel enjoys tennis, watercolor painting and photography. These pursuits, like yoga, help her to be present, focused, and fully engaged.
