When I first learned of Rooted Resilience I was immediately filled with a sense of comfort. I knew that the individuality of the program, the advantage of socialization in what can be an isolating time in our lives, and the relief of an at home class that would not require driving or worry about weather, was exactly what I needed! I have taken chair yoga classes with Jen Mast for years and can unequivocally say they were and continue to be life-changing. Not only is the physical exercise appropriately orchestrated, but also the spiritual component in yoga teaches untold lessons. Among them… humility and acceptance of where we are in this particular stage in our lives. We were all once young and mobile, flexible, and energetic, but as we age and experience what aging really entails, the idea of having Rooted Resilience as part of our lives brings new excitement and that ever-important “something to look forward to“.
“I’ve been a grateful follower of Jen Mast for many years, from Chair Yoga to individual yoga therapy. I credit Jen with shifting my body – and my outlook – from a chronic pain sufferer to a person in control of her own wellness. I feel blessed that I found Jen in my 50’s, giving me the tools to age more gracefully and safely.“
“I was thrilled to hear that Rooted Resilience will bring this practice to seniors at home. My mother, age 85, was until a few years ago a horseback rider who also managed her own barn. While she has declined physically, she still considers herself fit and tough. She scorns “old people exercise classes” and loves the challenge of working with Jen and Rachel. I love that she’s staying strong and mentally/spiritually engaged. I’m also relieved that she gets an expert weekly check-in to identify and help address any issues that come up.”
